Yes, You Can Start Planning Your Home Remodel During Social Distancing
Does staying in your home 24/7 have you longing to change your surroundings? Do you crave more space? Wish you had another bathroom? Want to renovate your kitchen? Believe it or not, you don’t have to wait until the self-distancing requirements are lifted to start planning. Our firm is helping homeowners get everything in place to hit the ground running when we get through to the other side of this crisis. With our virtual process, eager homeowners can get a jump start on their dream projects right now.
How Our Virtual Remodeling Prep Process Works
We have a formal 8-step construction process that makes every remodeling project we work on as seamless as possible. The first three steps relate to the prep work. Typically, these steps involve face-to-face meetings. Current circumstances, however, have inspired us to get creative so that homeowners can start prepping with the assistance of virtual technology.
1. Meet with Our Director of Operations.
You will still meet with our Director of Operations to explore your vision, want-list, needs, and budget – but you will do so via Zoom or FaceTime. If you don’t have existing architectural plans, we will work with you to sketch out your concept as a springboard for the development of plans, which we can email or mail to you. During these virtual meetings, we will advise you on how to measure the space so we can have a good idea of what we have to work with. These meetings will also provide us with the information we need to identify any possible zoning or variance issues.
2. Create a design and detailed proposal.
Based on the information gathered during our virtual meetings, we will create plans that incorporate the details you provided, along with a proposal that covers all phases from start of project to final finishes.
3. Review and sign contract.
After you had time to review the plans and proposal, we will again virtually meet with you to view the final design and sign the contract. The contract will outline the details of your project, from the demolition to installation of finishes.
During this time, we also suggest homeowners start thinking about design choices, such as:
• Flooring Options
• Paint Colors
• Cabinet and Vanity Styles
• Tile Selection
• Fixture Styles and Finishes
Pinterest is a great place to look for ideas. Our Tips & Trends section is also full of information. You can find articles on such topics as natural stone tile vs. porcelain and trending kitchen cabinets to decorative molding and trim to stylish ceiling ideas.
