Organizing Your Kitchen For The Holidays
The holiday rush is on. Keeping your kitchen clutter free will help keep it tidy no matter how busy you get this season. The key is well-organized cabinets and drawers that neatly store cutlery, pots and pans, condiments and cleaning supplies – making it easy to quickly find the tools you need and simple to put them away. Our in-house designer has a few tips to help whip your kitchen into organizational bliss.
Cabinets
Deep cabinets are ideal for storage, but they are only useful if you can actually see what they are storing! Roll out shelving lets you instantly see what you have without reaching all the way to the back of the cabinet, knocking everything over in your path. Available in single and double tiers, they are easy to install, and some come with dividers for optimal organization. A Lazy Susan is also a great way to place items at your fingertips. A small size of this rotating tray is ideal for items like spices. A larger size makes a corner cabinet more practical.
Drawers
Imagine opening a drawer and immediately finding the utensil you need. Drawer organizers/dividers and cutlery trays are a simple way to declutter and keep everything separated for easy access. They come in a variety of materials (plastic, metal mesh, wood), sizes and configurations so you can neatly store everything from spatulas and knives to measuring cups and spoons to tea bags and spices.
Under the Sink
The cabinet underneath the kitchen sink is most often the messiest cabinet in the kitchen. Sink pipes can make organization more difficult – but not impossible. Make the most of the space by installing a double-tiered pull out shelf comprised of a narrow shelf on top and wider lower shelf to accommodate for the piping. With detergent, sponges, and other cleaning supplies in easy reach you will be able to wipe away messes in no time.
